Job Summary

THE OTHER ROOM~ASIA'S 50 BEST BARS

A secret bar hidden within the Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel, with more than 300 spirits finished in casks for the bar’s use. These find their way into a lively list of classics and classics-with-a-twist arranged by date, such as the 'Reversed Gin & Tonic'. There's also a list of rare 'Vintage Cocktails' and a tapas selection available all night.

General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of the preparation SOPs, ingredients and par level of food items.
- To support Bartenders and the rest of Operations team members at the outlet.
- Assist with back bar & kitchen opening and closing procedures. Tasks will range and not be limited at preparing foods, welcome drinks, specials, garnishes, set up bar stations, food stations and restocking all par levels for food ingredients and home-made ingredients.
- Maintenance of the outlet hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Ensure that all standard recipes, SOPs and standards are followed in the service process.
- Ensure that all glassware is clean and is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was ended.
- Polishing and washing of equipment and tableware.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of food handling hygiene basics is preferred.
- Candidates without relevant working experience are welcome to apply.
- Positive, motivated, passionate and seeks opportunities to be multi-skilled and trained.

Key Responsibilities:


Preparation & Setup:



  • Familiarize yourself with the preparation SOPs, ingredients, and par levels of food items.

  • Assist in setting up bar stations, food stations, and back bar areas for smooth operations.

  • Prepare garnishes, welcome drinks, specials, and restock all ingredients, including home-made items.


Service Support:



  • Work closely with bartenders and the operations team to ensure seamless service.

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the outlet.

  • Follow standard recipes, SOPs, and service standards during operations.


Maintenance:



  • Ensure all glassware and equipment are cleaned, polished, and in proper working condition.

  • Support back bar and kitchen closing procedures, including equipment care and inventory checks.


Requirements:



  • Basic knowledge of food handling and hygiene (preferred but not required).

  • A positive, motivated, and passionate attitude.

  • Willingness to learn and take on multi-skilled tasks.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
